Viola’s dam was our first Trakehner and bought as a two year old from Holme Park Stud. She was Champion foal at the TBF in 1997 and graded in year 2001 as a four year old and was awarded a Premium. She was also Reserve Champion of the grading in that year. Vincenca is what I think of, as a true Trakehner. She has a good deep body and big doe eyes with an hourglass face and is a very stunning mare and has passed these wonderful features on to Viola. Vincenca represents one of the oldest mare family’s of the breed – over more than 200 years old and she also represents the world famous East Prussian breed of Zitzewitz-Weedern, who kept 80 mares in chestnut colour showing highest level of quality. The Velegue-family is well known for passing on outstanding dressage quality, which is consolidated in Vincenca’s pedigree through Consul and Amagun. The v-family produced the very well known competition Sires Valentin, Vasall, Vektor, Vivus and Virgil (ATA) Vincenca’s dam was twice Champion and Supreme Champion mare in hand in year 1988 and 1997. Vincenca’s sire was awarded BHD dressage sire of the year in 1998 and gained 161 points in one season, qualifying for the National Championship at Elementary level and winning at Medium level in his one and only competition. Viola’s Sire Chabrol is by Alter Fritz, which is a powerful son by Chardonnay with impressive movements, excellent action and a lot of suppleness. In good harmony with his body this stallion knows how to please his rider. Chardonnay was the Reserve Champion of the Trakehner championship for young riding horses at Steinhagen-Brockhagen and succeeded in several riding tests and dressage competitions for young horses. His offspring is impressive with good tallness, nice top line, strong and correct bones and three excellent and extreme balanced movements, all combined with wonderful character and temperament. Alter Fritz’s sire premium stallion Chardonnay was reserve champion of the Bundeschampionship at Warendorf and the Trakehner dressage champion in 1995. Chardonnay, who was in his years the most successful young dressage horse of the whole of Germany, represents the very well known and highly reputated sire line of Rockefeller and Consul, which has a great influence in all German breeds as well. On the mothers side Alter Fritz is also featured with the best bloodlines. His dam Agatha Christie (state premium mare) is the actual reserve champion of the regional broodmare show in Rheinland-Pfalz 1994 and won the, I b-prize at the national broodmare show at Warendorf. State Premium mare Arena IV is a daughter by the champion sire Seeadler. This son of Habicht produced a lot of good breeding as well as good sports horses. His sire Habicht, a son of Burnus, was known as a really successful eventer and has left a big impact on the Trakehner breed today. Also on the dam’s side the popular sires Argument, Arsenal, Aron and Argonaut can be named. Chabrol’s mother Cinzana was reserve champion of her central grading and show and took part successfully at the national Trakehner mare show. She is a big powerful (trot 10) mare with noble type and highly recommended dressage abilities. Her full sister Countess produced with her daughters Chamonix, Carrara, Courage and Casablanca four supreme champions of their show. Chabrol’s mother line of Cajenne is originally the same as that of Caprimond, and Cajenne’s daughter Cornelia founded that new branch of this highly proven bloodline, which is entering more and more the centre of the whole Trakehner breed. Chabrol is very closely related to the premium stallion Chateauneuf. Chabrol presents himself always proud and uphill with elastic, big and powerful movements. His proven bloodlines, which combine with Chardonnay, Rockefeller, Postmeister, Seeadler, Santiago and Kassio holds some of the best known and popular dressage genes. Viola would make a wonderful sports horse and we believe she should make an excellent eventer or show jumper, but with these outstanding bloodline, she would also make an interesting broodmare. |
