Her Sire Pascal never got the chance in the breed which he deserved. The noble impressive Donauwind-grandson was a real gentleman. He was the Champion of his performance test and was in his younger years very successful in show jumping and three-day-event on a national level. He always passed on his kind and willing character; his offspring is well known for being easy to ride and train. His mother line of Pelargonie-Peggi is known as one of the most proven families of the Trakehner breed and produced the International Dressage stars Partout and Peron. He himself is nearly a full brother to the mother of Anky von Grunsven’s Grand-Prix-dressage stallion Partout.

Her Dam Marcella has bred many outstanding foals although I think Madonna is the best she ever bred. Marcella is by the Sire Postmeister, which is keeping alive one of the most proven dressage bloodlines of the whole breed. His father Major competing up to Grand Prix level, has already produced some outstanding dressage talents and the important Sires Magister, Malachit and Hermes. Through Postmeister this line has been established in a most impressive way. His sons Tango, Wildfeuer and Mumpitz (full brother to Marcella) carried these genes on. His dominating position as a dressage Sire has been proven through a big number of high successful competition horses like Dr. Klimke’s International stars Pia, Tango and Harmonie. This bloodline is well known for passing on good size, big frame with powerful and elastic movements and very athletic and noble horses which is very true of Madonna's foals..
